Visiting Us

Margan Tasting Rooms and margan restaurant

The Hunter Valley is only 2 hours drive north of Sydney. Take the first Peats Ridge turnoff on the F3 to the left, and enjoy the scenic way via Wollombi. Once in the Hunter Valley you can visit us at either of our tasting rooms.

Broke Village Brief History:
The village of Broke is located where the Great North Road diverged in early days. The massive Yellow Rock escarpment stands grandly on guard above Broke Village and has vantage points from which to view the surrounding valley. Broke was named in 1830 after Sir Charles Broke Vere, a military colleague of the colonial surveyor, General Major Thomas Mitchell. In the late 1800s, the main highway to Sydney via Windsor ran along what is now the Putty Road to Blackland's property at Fordwich, and was a major stock route.
