THE WINES
Single vineyard wines allow for the ultimate expression of terroir and the running of our own vineyards has allowed us to achieve this goal. My wines have their own style and personality and each bottle produced is a reflection of its unique terroir.
In any given vintage there is often an opportunity to isolate unique parcels of wine. These limited volumes are treated separately in the winery and if they exhibit both high quality as well as unique character we bottle them under our “White Label” range.
From outstanding Hunter vintages we ensure we keep back limited quantities of the two great Hunter varieties of Semillon and Shiraz. Carefully matured in our temperature controlled storage sheds, secured by Stelvin capsules and then re-released after 5-6 years of maturation we package these under our “White Label- Aged Release” range.
Our “Family Label” range with its distinctive Margan style provides a pure expression of single vineyard, Hunter Valley varietals. I have been making these single varietal wines since our first vintage in 1997 and continue to believe in their pure expressions of regional varietal distinctiveness.
