2023 Hunter Valley Wine Show Results

Greetings from Ceres Hill!

It has been a foggy start to the week here at Margan with what was a large weekend for all involved. A regulation new release announcement was quickly superseded by some fantastic results at the Hunter Valley Wine Show last Friday. So with some delay, here goes…

Last week was the judging of the 2023 Hunter Valley Wine Show. We are not massive advocates for wine shows generally and limit our entries. Not because they don’t have a relevant place in the world, but because we believe our wines are worth more than just what sits in the glass. Context; people and places are also of importance when it comes to the quality of wine.

That said, this is a great opportunity to frock up and take a half day Friday with all our mates from around the Valley. And this year we CLEANED up!

We are thrilled to announce our biggest result for a red wine in our history!

The 2019 Fordwich Hill Shiraz won a whopping four trophies, including:

James Busby Memorial Trophy – Best 3-year-old or older Shiraz

Len Evans Trophy – Best Single Vineyard Red Wine (second year running!)
