From the Garden - Autumn 2017
After a beautiful Autumn we are now heading into the winter months. We are busy preparing beds; adding chicken manure, coffee grounds, eggshells, blood & bone, egg cartons and grape marc.
Currently planting out Carrots, Broccoli, Leek, Onion & Fennel and all things wintery. Planted our garlic in mid-March and so 3 weeks later it is looking good, bedded down in mulched corn stalks, egg shells and egg cartons!
The growing season is long and it will be ready to harvest in November. Roses are having their last seasonal flush of blooms after the recent rain and will be pruned back in early July.
Asparagus is sitting there building up nutrients and will be cut back to ground level in early May, with the new little spears appearing in mid-August.
