Hunter Valley dusty violets, pepper, plums and a soft meaty, savoury complexity. Approachable, but not simple. The tannins are sinewy and the fruit tight, lean ropey lines of medium flesh plums and raspberry. Pepper and chocoaltey oak nuances before a drying finish. There’s some deceptive youthful acidity too. Would suit gamey meats such as venison or kangaroo sausages.
