2017 White Label Cabernet Sauvignon

Description Our White Label wines are made in limited quantities and produced only in the best vintages. Fruit is chosen from small blocks that show exceptional quality within our 100 hectares of vineyard. Inspired by the great wines of the left bank Gironde, France where ripeness is not measured in numbers but in texture and finesse.

Region Broke Fordwich, Hunter Valley

Vineyard Saxonvale Vineyard

Tasting Notes  Lifted floral and perfumed notes leaps out of the glass, followed by rich cassis and savoury cigar box. The tannins are firm and well integrated, the oak subtle framing rich, intense dark berry fruits that linger long after the first sip.

Colour  Deep purple

Nose  Blackberry, Mulberry, Tomato leaf

Palate  Firm tannins integrated with black forest fruits, subtle oak and a lingering acidity.

Food Match Chargrilled Lamb Shoulder

Cellaring  10 - 20 years

Winemakers Notes  The 2017 vintage was hot and dry and produced outstanding quality fruit from all varieties. The Cabernet Sauvignon was matured in new and old French oak for 18 months. This wine is a great example of Hunter Valley terroir with ripe fruit and sharp acid that will keep this wine ageing for many years.
