FERMENTATION & ÉLEVAGE

Wild fermentation helps increase the aromatic profile and the suede-like tannins play an important supportive role. Minimal use of new oak (<20%) and predominantly large format French oak barrels (500L) make this a wine of great complexity and vitality.

2023 Fordwich Hill Shiraz 93pts

Deep-ish bright purple colour with spicy star-anise and red fruits in the discreet bouquet. A herbal touch as well. The wine is medium bodied and elegantly crafted with nicely tensioned, fine and drying tannins. The palate adds sweet red berry flavours in the core, surrounded by drying but harmonious tannins that cleanse and refresh the finish. A smart wine with a charming heart of sweet ripe berry flavour, to drink young or cellar for many years.
