This year, Matt Dillow from the Deck Cafe and Gartelmann Wines returns, joining Gather Executive Chef Ran Kimelfeld, and the Hunter Valley’s own Frank Fawkner of EXP, Australia’s recently crowned Regional Restaurant of the Year.

Bringing his very down-to-earth and unique take on wine to the Hunter Valley, our host this year is Australia’s very own ‘Wine Animal’, Brenden Robnik!

Margan Family Wines and Basket Range Wine head to the Capital for one night only.
Join Ollie Margan and Sholto Broderick for an exclusive evening of wine and food at Pilot.

Both are the second-generation winemakers and grape growers of their family estates, Ollie in the Hunter Valley and Sholto in the Adelaide Hills. The two studied winemaking together at university and have made wine at each other’s wineries, as well as together in Germany. They share an interest in making wines with texture and detail, expressive of site, from grapes farmed by them.

This dinner will be kept to an intimate 28 tickets and will include 7 wines, from their respective labels plus a couple they made together. These wines will be paired with a five-course menu from Pilot Restaurant in Ainslie. This is THE restaurant in Canberra and we are privileged to take over their restaurant on a school night. Arrival is at 6:30pm for all reservations.

Grape Garden & Graze is a relaxed Hunter Valley tasting experience in Broke Fordwich, combining a guided walk through Margan’s kitchen garden and vineyard with a seated wine tasting and seasonal grazing in the cellar door. Choose between two tasting experiences. The Seasonal Favourites Tasting features a curated selection of five wines that reflect what we are currently pouring and enjoying on the estate. This flight highlights a balanced mix of varietals and styles, showcasing the character of our Fordwich vineyards and the seasonal conditions that shape each vintage. It’s an ideal option for those wanting a guided overview of our range.

For those who prefer a more personalised approach, the Reserve Wine Tasting allows you to select your own eight wines from our list. This option offers greater flexibility to explore specific varietals, compare vintages, or delve into our single vineyard and limited-release wines at your own pace.

Both tastings are hosted by our cellar door team, who will guide you through the wines, share insights into our vineyard sites and winemaking, and answer any questions along the way.

DINE | Thursday - Monday | 12pm | From $95 per person

We offer a seasonally inspired menu showcasing estate grown and made produce from our vineyard and farm here in Broke. Much of what you’ll enjoy is harvested from our one-hectare kitchen garden and orchard, including eggs from our free-range chickens, estate-reared lamb, honey from our hives and olives from our groves. What we don’t grow ourselves is thoughtfully sourced from local providores and farm gate producers.

Choose from two or three courses, with the option to add sides, house-baked bread and artisanal cheese. We recommend allowing 90–120 minutes to dine, though you’re welcome to relax and enjoy at your own pace. As a winery restaurant in the Hunter Valley, our wine list features a considered selection from our estate and beyond. Enjoy a glass, share a bottle, or opt for a guided wine pairing to complement your meal. If you’d like a structured tasting before or after lunch, please book ahead as walk-ins are subject to availability.
