2023 Huesgen & Margan Riesling
This wine collaboration between Andrew Margan of the Hunter Valley, Australia and Ado Huesgen of the Mosel River, Germany. They met at Tyrrells decades ago and decided to make this wine in 2019. Ado has the distinguished vineyard on the steep, slate banks of the Mosel and Andrew adds the winemaking expertise. In fact, he, Lisa and Ollie go there each year to pick the grapes and make the wine. It’s a dry style of Riesling inspired by the best GG’s (outstanding wines) of the region and defined by the regionally typical strength of fruit concentration and bracing acidity.
